The top five I can't wait to open in Magic's latest set, Phyrexia: All Will Be One.

Top 5 Cards From Pokemon TCG's Sword & Shield: Crown Zenith

The Pokemon Trading Card Game released the Sword & Shield Crown Zenith set on January 20th, 2023. Be prepared to say a proper goodbye to Galar and the era of Pokemon V as Crown Zenith is the conclusion of the Pokemon Sword & Shield series. To celebrate, the Pokemon company included the Galarian Gallery which features 70 Galarian Gallery cards, including 4 Galarian Gallery secret rares.

The Galarian Gallery is different than the trainer gallery that we typically see in Pokemon sets and it contains many of the best hits in the set. For information on the pull rates of these high value cards, check out our Crown Zenith Hit Rate article here. Alright, enough backgroun - lets get into the top 5 hits from Pokemon’s Crown Zenith set.

5. Origin Forme Palkia VSTAR

What’s a top 5 list for a Pokemon set without a few VSTAR cards, am I right? While Gold Origin Forme Palkia VSTAR is one of the most effective cards currently in rotation, the artwork alone makes this card stand out. This is one of the four gold-bordered cards that you will see featured in the Galarian Gallery for Crown Zenith. This card isn’t just all looks though. It’s VSTAR powers allow you to attach up to 3 Water Energy cards from your discard pile to your Water Pokemon during your turn.

4. Origin Forme Dialga VSTAR

Origin Forme Palkia VSTAR’s ‘sister’ card in the Sword & Shield: Crown Zenith set is Origin Forme Dialga VSTAR. This card is also one of the four gold-bordered cards featured in the Crown Zenith Galarian Gallery. The Dialga character has played such a major role throughout the entire Sword & Shield series, it's only fitting they gave it the proper recognition in the final set. With Dialga's VSTAR powers, you’ll be enabled to take another turn! Overall, if you pull a Origin Forme Dialga VSTAR from Crown Zenith, that's definitely a win.

3. Arceus VSTAR

At number 3, we have Arceus VSTAR. It’s hard to believe that the speculated creator of the Pokémon universe wouldn’t make an appearance on a top five list for Crown Zenith. After all, Arceus played a major role throughout the Sword & Shield series. Like the previous two VSTARS, the Arceus VSTAR is also one of the four gold-bordered cards featured in the Galarian Gallery. When lined up together, the Arceus VSTAR, Origin Forme Dialga VSTAR and Origin Forme Palkia VSTAR cards create one, larger image. Arceus’ VSTAR powers allow you to search your deck for up to 2 cards and put them into your hand during your turn.

2. Mewtwo VSTAR

Next, we have Mewtwo VSTAR - the first card on this list without a gold border. Its rare to see a top 5 list from ANY Pokemon set that doesn’t feature a Mewtwo somewhere. The fan favorite character makes its appearance as one of the best looking cards in the Crown Zenith Galarian Gallery. This card also shows us the Mewtwo perspective of the Mewtwo VSTAR and Charizard VSTAR face off. The Charizard perspective was featured in the Charizard VSTAR promo included in the Sword & Shield Charizard Ultra-Premium Collection. As far as game play, Mewtwo’s VSTAR powers allow you to do 120 damage to each of your opponent’s Pokemon V which isn’t affected Weakness or Resistance.

1. Giratina VSTAR

Giratina VSTAR is taking the Pokemon world by storm. This is not only the most valuable card in the set but it is also the hardest card to pull from the Crown Zenith set. After opening 1,000 packs, we were unsuccessful in pulling this card. Like many others mentioned on this list, the Giratina VSTAR is also one of the four gold-bordered cards featured in the Crown Zenith Galrian Gallery. This is considered one of the strongest cards currently in rotation and lets you Knock Out your opponent’s Active Pokemon instantly, you just have to have 10 or more cards in the Lost Zone.
