What Can You Find in The Scarlet & Violet Set?

The Pokémon Trading Card Game announced that Scarlet & Violet will be released on March 31, 2023. This will be the first set of the Scarlet & Violet series, following the end of the Sword & Shield era. 


As the Scarlet & Violet era begins, Pokémon TCG will be introducing sweeping new changes to the card design. Changes include: yellow borders, Pokémon TCG cards becoming gray (similar to cards released in Japan), all rare cards will now be holofoil and expansion symbols will be replaced by expansion codes and/or language codes. 


In addition to the release date and the design changes, the initial list of products included in the Scarlet & Violet set has also been revealed on Pokemoncenter.com. It's important to note that this is not the full list of products for Scarlet & Violet, more products are anticipated to release as a part of the base set. Pokémon TCG: Scarlet & Violet Elite Trainer Box (Koraidon/Miraidon)

As with other regular Pokemon sets, the Pokemon TCG: Scarlet & Violet set will include an Elite Trainer Box. For Scarlet & Violet, there will be a Miraidon Elite Trainer Box as well as a Koraidon Elite Trainer Box. The contents of these boxes include: 

  • 9 Pokémon TCG: Scarlet & Violet booster packs
  • 1 full-art foil promo card featuring Koraidon or Miraidon
  • 65 card sleeves featuring Koraidon or Miraidon
  • 45 Pokémon TCG Energy cards
  • A player’s guide to the Scarlet & Violet expansion
