Pokemon TCG Card Types Explained
If you're just starting out with the Pokemon Trading Card Game, or even if you've been playing for a while, you might be wondering what the different card types mean and how they relate to the game. While card types may seem like a small piece of the puzzle, they actually have quite an impact on the game.
There are 11 different types of Pokemon cards that exist in the Pokemon Trading Card Game. These card types include Grass, Fire, Water, Lightning, Psychic, Fighting, Darkness, Metal, Fairy, Dragon and Colorless. Each card type features a type of Pokemon, these have been noted below.
Grass - These cards typically feature grass-type Pokemon and have green borders.
Fire - These cards typically feature fire-type Pokemon and have red borders.
Water - These cards typically feature water-type Pokemon and have blue borders.
Lightning - These cards typically feature electric-type Pokemon and have yellow borders.
Psychic - These cards typically feature psychic-type Pokemon and have purple borders.
Fighting - These cards typically feature fighting-type Pokemon and have brown borders.
Darkness - These cards typically feature dark-type Pokemon and have black borders.
Metal - These cards typically feature steel-type Pokemon and have silver borders.
Fairy - These cards typically feature fairy-type Pokemon and have pink borders.
Dragon - These cards typically feature dragon-type Pokemon and have blue and yellow borders.
Colorless - These cards do not have a specific type and can feature any type of Pokemon but they are noted by their white borders.
Each type of card has its own strengths and weaknesses, and the type of Pokemon on the card can affect how it interacts with other cards during gameplay.
